Prep Week 1: Listen To The Whisper

A Gentle Start to Reconnecting Body, Mind, & Spirit

How to Use This Weekly Calendar

This week is designed to help you slow down, listen for God’s voice, and reconnect with your body through breath, movement, reflection, and nourishment. I personally begin Day 1 on Sunday, but you’re welcome to start on any day that works best for your life and routine. The goal isn’t to follow a perfect schedule—it’s to create a rhythm that supports your growth.

Each week begins with a devotional to set the theme and intention, helping you align your heart, mind, and body with God’s purpose for the days ahead.

Each day includes:

  • Scripture: A verse to center your heart and mind on God’s truth

  • Focus: A daily theme to guide your thoughts, actions, and spiritual growth

  • Journal Prompt: A reflection question to explore what’s stirring in your heart

  • Wellness: A check-in or practice to support rest, stress relief, or self-care

  • Nutrition: A simple intention to nourish your body with mindfulness and grace

  • Movement: A gentle, foundational activity to reconnect with your body

  • Reflections: A thought or question to help you set today’s intentions

  • Prayer: A short prayer prompt to close your time with God

Devotional: The Invitation to Begin

Often before significant changes in my life, there’s a season that feels like nothing. I feel bored. My phone is quiet. No one seems available. I feel abandoned and restless. But over time, I’ve learned that this space—this silence—is not a punishment. It’s an invitation. A holy pause. It’s actually the perfect time to be still and listen.

As I made it less about me—less about needing people to respond or needing my schedule to stay full—I began practicing meditation and breathwork as a way to quiet my body and connect with God. In that stillness, I discovered that my quiet suffering and sadness were often just signals—feelings rooted in the belief that I must stay busy or be seen to have value.

When I listened and waited, instead of reacting or distracting myself, good things began to unfold: new friendships, unexpected work opportunities, and fresh insight into my own health and needs. It was in stillness, not striving, that I felt called to begin a women’s health ministry—something I would’ve missed if I hadn’t learned to listen.

In 1 Kings 19:11–12, Elijah is desperate and weary. He expects God to meet him in fire, earthquake, and wind—but God doesn’t shout. He whispers. And in that whisper, Elijah hears something unmistakable: the presence of a God who sees, knows, and still calls.

God invites Elijah to listen, not strive. That same invitation is extended to you.

You don’t need a perfect plan. You don’t need to be at your strongest. You just need to be willing to listen.

As you enter this week, your focus is not performance—it’s presence. What is stirring in your heart right now? Maybe it’s a longing for healing, clarity, or strength.

Maybe it’s exhaustion from the weight you’ve been carrying. Whatever it is, it matters to God. And it’s often in the quiet, gentle places of awareness—your breath, your body, your meals, your stillness—where His voice becomes clear.

The goal this week is to tune in. With each breath, walk, or quiet moment, you are returning to yourself and to the God who created you with care. You are paying attention—not to what needs fixing, but to what God is already doing.

This week’s journal prompt, “What is stirring in your heart?” is a question that invites honesty. It isn’t asking for a polished answer. It’s asking for truth.

Maybe it’s been a while since you listened to what your body or spirit is saying. Maybe you’ve drowned out the whisper with distractions or urgency.

This is your gentle return. This is your planting season.

As you walk, breathe, eat, and reflect this week, don’t chase after transformation. Instead, receive the invitation to begin—right here, right now, just as you are.

God doesn’t rush growth. He honors small starts. Listen closely. He’s already speaking.

“And after the fire came a gentle whisper.”
– 1 Kings 19:12
